ChatDocument

Compare documents AI that shows each difference with its page

Select two to five documents in a space and ChatDocument lays out where they differ, topic by topic, with the page in each file. It works for two drafts of the same agreement, a policy from this year and last year, or several vendor proposals answering the same request. Every difference it lists is cited and checked, so you can open both passages and read them yourself.

Differences that point to both sources

A redline shows changed characters. A comparison in ChatDocument shows changed meaning: a notice period that moved from 30 to 60 days, a liability cap that now excludes data breaches, a renewal clause that turned automatic. Each row names the topic, states what each document says and links to the page in each file. Topics present in one document and missing from another are listed as well, so a dropped clause does not slip through.

  • Works across PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel and text files in the same space
  • Compares files with different layouts and numbering
  • Points out clauses or sections that appear in only one document

Four steps from selection to a reviewed comparison

  1. 1Open a space and tick between two and five documents.
  2. 2Choose a focus, such as payment terms and termination, or leave it open to compare the documents as a whole.
  3. 3ChatDocument retrieves matching passages from each file, writes the differences and checks every citation against the stored text.
  4. 4Review the list, click any page to open both passages, then ask a follow-up question in the same thread or export the comparison.

FAQ

How many documents can I compare at once

Between two and five documents per comparison. For more files, extract the same columns from all of them into a table.

Do the documents need the same format

No. A PDF can be compared with a Word file or a scanned copy read with OCR. Citations use the page of each file.

How is a comparison counted toward my plan

A comparison counts as 3 questions. Follow-up questions in the same thread count as 1 question each.

Does it find text that was removed

Yes. Topics that appear in one document and are absent from another are listed, with the page where they appear.
