Secure AI document chat for company files
Contracts, salary bands, board decks and customer data end up in the files people ask about. This page lists exactly how ChatDocument protects them, and it also lists what we do not claim, so your security review starts from facts.
Encryption in transit and at rest
Every connection to ChatDocument, from the browser, the widget and the API, runs over TLS. Stored documents, extracted text and the search index are encrypted at rest.
Your content never trains AI models
Your documents, questions and answers are not used to train AI models, ours or anyone else's. The AI model providers that process passages to write answers are bound by contract, under their API terms, not to train on your content.
Deletion you control
Delete a single document or a whole space from your account, or ask [email protected] to do it for you. The document and its index are deleted, and copies are removed from backups within 30 days. Connected folders stop syncing when you disconnect them.
Access decided by spaces and roles
Documents live in spaces, and a question in a space is answered only from that space. Each member has a role: owners manage members and settings, editors add and remove documents, and askers ask without changing anything. Roles come with Team, Business and Enterprise, as described on team workspaces.
An audit log on Business and Enterprise
The audit log records who asked what, in which space, and which pages answered it. Admins use it to review use of sensitive spaces and to answer internal audit questions.
Single sign on with SAML on Enterprise
Enterprise workspaces sign people in through your identity provider with SAML, so joiners and leavers are handled where you already manage accounts. Enterprise also includes an SLA of 99.9 and invoice billing, see pricing.
Widget and API with narrow access
Each website widget is restricted to one space, so visitors can only get answers from the documents you approved for it. API keys are issued per workspace. Setup is explained on the widget page.
What we do not claim
We do not hold security certifications and we do not describe ChatDocument as compliant with any certification scheme. If your review requires a specific attestation, ask before you buy and we will tell you plainly what we can and cannot provide.

FAQ
Do you hold security certifications?
No. We describe the measures above as they work in the product and do not present any certification. If a questionnaire asks for an attestation, we answer it plainly.
What happens to our data when we cancel?
Your workspace stays available to the end of the paid period. After that, or earlier on request, documents and their index are deleted, and backups clear within 30 days.
Can the AI see documents in other spaces?
No. Retrieval runs only over the space where the question is asked, and the widget is locked to a single space.
